Brighton, CO
Home Market Report : Jan 2021
Downtown Brighton boasts one of the state’s original Main Streets. The
city was incorporated in 1887; it was voted Adams County seat in 1904 due
to its railroad passenger and freight station (now The Depot Restaurant)
and highway access (now Highway 85). People came to Downtown Brighton from
throughout the region to socialize, shop, and take in entertainment. A
monthly Market Day offered fresh farm produce, livestock, and horse races.
This rich heritage, and more, provides the foundation for downtown’s
current resurgence.
Historic Downtown Brighton has been the epicenter of the Brighton
community for 125 years. Through the efforts of the Downtown Initiatives
Office and the Brighton Urban Renewal Authority partnering with local
merchants and stakeholders, the historic downtown district is once again a
vital retail area offering numerous dining, shopping and entertainment
opportunities for Brighton residents and visitors.
Shopping in Historic Downtown Brighton's unique boutiques and shops can be
fun, enjoyable, and educational for the whole family. From unique
handcrafted clothing and gifts to natural soaps, books to pets, pinatas to
jewelry, gourmet candy to art, and adorable kid's clothing to old
fashioned shoe repair, Downtown Brighton has the locally owned retail
opportunity for you.
Whether looking for a quick bite, a picnic lunch, or a leisurely dining
experience, you'll find it in Downtown Brighton. Downtown restaurants and
cafes serve a variety of fare from Mexican to Italian, and Asian to an
old-fashioned burger, and more.
Choose to dine in a restaurant offering fine Italian cuisine or experience
hearty south-of-the-border tastes. Relax in a popular coffee house or
enjoy a great steak and potato dinner in a casual setting. Mix and match
your favorite ice cream and toppings mixed to order, or try your skills
with chopsticks. Whatever your tastes, Downtown Brighton offers something
to tempt your tastebuds.
As part of the revitalization efforts of the historic downtown area, the
Armory was transformed into a delightful entertainment and cultural venue.
It is now one of the highlights of the Brighton community, providing an
ideal setting for theater performances, concerts by national and local
musical entertainers, art exhibits, a variety of performance art, an
events venue, and so much more. It's definitely time to take a closer look
at The Armory at Brighton Cultural Center's calendar of events.
